This April, Bohio Creative invites the community into a powerful and immersive artistic dialogue with One Blood, We Bleed, a new exhibition by the collective GRAVE. On view from April 2 through April 25, the exhibition opens with a reception on Thursday, April 2, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM—an opportunity to meet the artists and experience the work firsthand.
At its core, One Blood, We Bleed is an exploration of what connects us. Through deeply personal yet universally resonant works, GRAVE examines the emotional and psychological threads that shape the human experience—memory, identity, time, and transformation.
A Collective Rooted in Community
GRAVE, formed by artists Pedro Rolo and Vicente Faria, has become an important cultural presence in Caldas da Rainha. More than a collaborative practice, the collective functions as a force within the local arts landscape—organizing exhibitions, activating spaces, and creating opportunities for dialogue and exchange.
Their work reflects a commitment not only to artistic production but also to accessibility and community engagement. In a city shaped by the influence of the Escola Superior de Artes e Design (ESAD.CR), GRAVE contributes to a growing network of artists who are redefining what it means to create and share work outside of major cultural centers.
Memory as Material: Pedro Rolo

Pedro Rolo’s practice is grounded in memory—its fragility, its fluidity, and its emotional weight. Working across multiple mediums, he constructs layered compositions that mirror the way experiences are remembered, altered, and sometimes distorted over time.
Through collage, paint, and sculptural elements, Rolo captures the complexity of formative moments. His work navigates emotions like fear, curiosity, friendship, and solitude, presenting them not as fixed narratives but as evolving impressions. In his hands, memory becomes less about documentation and more about sensation—fragmented, abstract, and deeply personal.
Chaos and Order: Vicente Faria

Vicente Faria’s practice embraces immediacy and movement. His paintings, drawings, and sculptures are charged with expressive energy, marked by bold colors, textured surfaces, and repetitive patterns.
Faria explores the tension between chaos and structure, using visual rhythm to suggest the passage of time and the layering of emotional states. His figurative elements pull us inward, encouraging moments of introspection and self-reflection. Each piece feels alive, an unfolding of gesture and instinct, where emotion takes form in real time.
A Shared Language of Experience
Together, Rolo and Faria create a compelling dialogue. While their approaches differ—one rooted in the reconstruction of memory, the other in the immediacy of expression—their work converges in its exploration of what it means to feel, remember, and exist.
One Blood, We Bleed suggests that beneath our individual experiences lies something shared. It is a reminder that emotion, in all its complexity, connects us—that even in fragmentation, there is common ground.
