This February, Bohío Creative opens its doors to celebrate a year of learning, experimentation, and creative growth with the Ceramics Exhibition, on view from February 7–27, 2026, in Caldas da Rainha.
This exhibition offers a window into process, with each piece reflecting months of exploration—learning the language of clay, ideas taking form through trial and error, and personal visual vocabularies slowly emerging. Together, these works from 14 different artists, tell a collective story of curiosity, discipline, and the joy of making.
A Space for Creation, Learning, and Collaboration
The year-long course was guided by Mariana Sampaio, an artist based in Caldas da Rainha whose practice spans ceramics and the visual arts. Her work is informed by both local ceramic traditions and an active contemporary studio practice, shaped through years of making, exhibiting, and teaching.
Since its founding in 2017, Mariana Sampaio Studio has grown into a dynamic space where author pieces, small series, and exclusive works are developed alongside workshops, training programs, and collaborative projects. The studio also provides technical support, kiln firing services, plaster modeling development, and equipment rental—serving both emerging and established artists.
